Friday, Part 4 - Mount Rushmore

Traveler's tip: If you show up at Mount Rushmore late in the day, the parking lot attendants have likely abandoned their posts, saving you $10 for a 20-minute visit*. That's like saving $.50 every minute!

If you are in the neighborhood, stop by and check it out. But don't waste your fuel getting out there for a special trip.

*I would have left sooner, but it took about five minutes to walk from the car to the amphitheatre and observation area; two minutes to take a couple of pictures; three minutes to realize that this, in fact, was all there was; two minutes to stop in the restroom; at least two minutes to dry my hands with the weak air-dryers in the men's room; and five to walk back to the car. Okay, 19 minutes.
